Assemble Food Bags To Keep in Your Car

Driving around town, you see many people on the side of the road who are in need. In response, Grace’s Kitchen is making food bags to give away. The bags contain nonperishable food items and bottled water. We also include a Bible verse card and information about our Thursday breakfasts in Linn Park.

Groups all across our city have assembled food bags to give away. We recommend packaging the following items in gallon-size zip-top plastic bags: bottled water, canned (such as fruit cocktail) or packaged (such as raisins) fruit and a spoon, peanut butter crackers, a chewy granola or breakfast bar, a handwritten scripture card (Philippians 4:19 is a great verse but any encouraging scripture will work), and an invitation to Grace’s Kitchen breakfast. If you plan to make some food bags, send an e-mail to paula@graceskitchen.org and we’ll print breakfast invitations for you to include.

This is a great activity for families, and many people have shared stories about how God has used the food bags to minister to those in need. If you have a neat experience to share, please send an e-mail to lisa@graceskitchen.org or paula@graceskitchen.org.
