Today we had a lot of people come for breakfast. We actually got close to running out of food for the first time in a while, but God provided. It is amazing how many people know about Grace’s Kitchen, and remember to come for breakfast. Although we see some of the same people each week, there is also a good bit of turnover with this population. One thing that never ceases to amaze me, is the fact that people come back after months of being away and remember us.

Today a man and woman who have been away for more than six months working in Huntsville were back today. They knew we would be there, and they knew they could count on us. This is one reason we know we must continue to serve in the park as long as we can. Consistency makes a difference. In a very unstable environment, having something and someone you can count on is important.

We have begun to talk regularly with people about how it is not the food that we come for. The food is the vehicle, but sharing the love of Christ is the reason. Our prayer is that by being consistent, constant and dependable, we will reflect a God who will never let us down. Although we will eventually let people down, God never will. He remains the same and He is the reason we serve.

As you pray for Grace’s Kitchen, pray for salvation for the people we serve in the park. Pray they will see Christ in us. Sometimes we only have one shot at one conversation, so please pray we won’t waste an opportunity to share. Thank you for your prayers for Grace’s Kitchen!
