Today was another crowded day in the park. We ran out of food quickly and served many new people.
As we began our prayer time, a woman joined us who had just gotten off the bus. She was very dazed and confused, but joined us for prayer, heard the devotion, and stayed for Bible Study. One couple we met today stood out to us, and we learned that their home had been destroyed by the tornado in Pratt City, displacing them until insurance issues are resolved. We met another young man currently staying at a local shelter while he receives cancer treatments. Yet another young lady was openly weeping as a volunteer prayed with her and continued crying throughout breakfast until she finally left the park.
These are just a few of numerous situations we encountered in the park today. Many times we feel overwhelmed, but are thankful for a God who sees, hears and knows every situation. Strategic prayer is greatly needed for this ministry- both for the people we serve as well as for the volunteers. Thank you for your continued support of Grace’s Kitchen.
