“Then [Jesus] ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass, and taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing. Then he broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. And they all ate and were satisfied. And they took up twelve baskets full of the broken pieces left over. And those who ate were about five thousand men, besides women and children.” Matthew 14:19-21

Over and over again in this ministry, God has shown us that He is Jehovah Jirah, our Provider. Never do we want to take the evidence of His hand for granted!

Today we served lunch in Cordova. During our prep time, we decided to cook 10 pounds of chicken to supplement the 50+ pounds of roast beef that was on the menu. Upon arrival at Freewill Baptist,  we began to serve many more people than we have during the time we have been coming here. There was a steady stream. As the last pan of baked chicken was opened, we begin to pray that God would multiply the food. The volunteer serving the meat counted and realized that we would be about six plates short. But God worked a miracle! All of the remaining plates were served and we had three pieces of chicken and a few green beans left. Once more, God showed us that He is all we need and that He will provide for us in ways we can’t understand.

Thank you, God, for your great provision. Thank you that we were able to feed all who came to the church a fresh, hot lunch. Thank you for the joy and encouragement that we receive through watching You work. Soli Deo Gloria!
