A few months ago, we decided to sing at the end of our devotion time and have continued this each week. Though simple enough, this has become such a precious time! Today we sang these words: “How deep, how wide, how great is Your love for me.” Looking around the circle, it was so neat to see almost everyone singing. You could tell that not everyone knew the words, but that didn’t deter many of them from joining us in this beautiful act of corporate worship. What a privilege it is to stand in the middle of a public park and sing praises to God!
Each week we pray that many will join us for the devotion time. Today we had more than 40 people in our circle. Praise the Lord! While we come downtown to feed those in need, our primary motivation is to share God’s love with them. Because it’s summer, our group of volunteers has grown and that means more volunteers are able to engage those we serve in conversations. Those who come each week absolutely eat breakfast, but many look forward to spending time talking with us. It is by building relationships that we can share Christ.
Continue to pray for those we serve. Pray for their safety. Pray they will find a way to get deal with the heat. Pray that they will have peace. Most of all, pray that they will come to know Christ as their Savior.
