Praise God that the predicted rain didn’t fall while we were in the park this morning! It was certainly colder than it has been the past few weeks, but that didn’t stop people from coming to breakfast. We served more this week than we have since the weather turned cold in late fall. Daily our volunteers pray for the current requests as well as for a list of people who we haven’t seen in a while. Today, God graciously drew some of these friends to GK. It was neat to get updates on what has been going on in their lives.
Two men came today to specifically tell us good-bye and to thank us for praying for them. They are heading to Central Florida to start over. Both say that they are believers and desire change in their lives—we know that the Lord is the only true author of change. One volunteer prayed with these men, asking our Heavenly Father to work in their lives for His glory alone. She also prayed for their safety and that they will find jobs and make solid friendships once they land in their new home. The relationships we have with those in the park are truly God-ordained! The life of the volunteer who was praying couldn’t be more different than the lives that these men lead. However, in God’s economy, we are all the same—all in need of love, grace, and mercy that only He can give.
Please be in prayer for these men as they travel south tomorrow. Also, continue to pray for our other friends in the park and for the ministry of Grace’s Kitchen. Soli Deo Gloria!
