This morning as we prayed, we asked God to use us. Sometimes it is hard to pray this prayer because we don’t always feel like being used. Some mornings we want togo back to bed and hide under the covers, but we know we are called to do this—so we persevere. Many times on mornings when our flesh is especially weak, God will surprise us with a blessing. Today was no exception.
One of our volunteers prayed a specific prayer for a man she had not seen in a while on her way to the park today. The man came for breakfast for the first time in weeks. Another volunteer had an honest conversation with a man who remarked that even though he had the opportunity to change, he just wasn’t ready. The volunteer was overwhelmed in that moment with the truth of the gospel: God is the only one who can change lives.
Today we also had visitors from another state who desire to begin a feeding ministry in their area. Their visit was a wonderful time for us to reflect on God’s goodness to Grace’s Kitchen over the past year and a half. The Lord continues to amaze us with His faithfulness. We are thankful He doesn’t give up on us, despite our sinful nature. Please continue to pray for us and for the people we serve.
