Every Thursday, our volunteers gather on the sidewalk to pray before setting up in the park. It is so neat to look around the circle and see who God assemblesto serve with GK each week. This morning our circle was a mix of both volunteers and people who came for breakfast. God definitely uses this prayer circle as an equalizer—we are all broken and in need of His grace!

So many of the people we serve are lonely and come to the park simply for conversation. They just want to be listened to and that is what we do. It’s through listening and talking that we build relationships. To be honest, just listening doesn’t seem to be very helpful when you look at all the needs we see in the park. But God has graciously shown us that our regulars continue to come back because we have taken an interest in what is going on in their lives and they know that we are praying for them. We love them because God first loved us! Many times we demonstrate His love because we listen.

Pray that we will continue to build relationships with those we serve. Pray that we will make listening a priority. Pray that these precious people will come to recognize Christ as their Savior. Pray that we will be able to share God’s Truth.
