Few days have been tougher than today at Grace’s Kitchen. Sometimes the need is so overwhelming it makes you feel like you can’t breathe. Sometimes when you leave the park and go back home it is almost impossible to resume normal activities until some time has passed. And sometimes when you take a hot shower, sleep in a warm bed, or eat a hot meal, you feel shame that you have never thanked God for His provision and blessings.

Today we ran out of food in fifteen minutes. A warming station had opened at a local auditorium and people were released onto the streets first thing. Upon arriving at the park, we met a woman and her 2-year old daughter, carrying a pillow and blanket. They spent the night at the warming station because they had no heat.  We talked with numerous people in the same situation, many of whom live in abandoned houses with no electricity. There were many prayer requests for shelter today and we were reminded to be faithful in those prayers.

One of our volunteers was able to share the plan of salvation with a young woman who was very receptive to the gospel. The woman said that she was ready to receive Jesus Christ. Please pray with us that she will continually embrace Jesus as Savior, Lord and treasure of her life. Soli Deo Gloria!
